Just one week ago 100 Men YEG members joined Chicks with Cheques for a Summer Social and to hear from three deserving charities.
If you didn’t get an opportunity to attend, you can still donate your $100 via this link: http://100menyeg.com/donate/ It’s never too late, and if everyone who has committed to this quarterly donation follows through, the impact will be even better!
So on with it, what happened?
First, Edmonton Epilepsy Society came back and told us how they allocated the $11K they received from us at our last meeting.
Please read the thank you letter we received HERE

Programs of education for persons with epilepsy and their families;
Programs of public education;
Fund raising programs;
Recreational activities for persons with epilepsy, their families and friends;
Programs of research.
Edmonton Humane Society
The Edmonton Humane Society enriches the lives of people and companion animals through animal sheltering, programs and services, and community engagement.
We value the compassionate care of companion animals.
We value the humane treatment of all animals.
We value our staff and volunteers.
We value our relationships with our partners and supporters.
We value our role as a recognized community leader in animal welfare.
We value fiscal responsibility and careful stewardship of our resources.
We believe that no kid should be left on the sidelines and all should be given the opportunity to experience the positive benefits of organized sports. KidSport provides support to children in order to remove financial barriers that prevent them from playing organized sport.
We do this by:
Raising funds to provide sport opportunities for kids facing financial barriers.
Promoting the KidSport mission to other community agencies with a view to creating strategic alliances to support sport participation and physical activity opportunities for kids.
Advocating the importance of all kids having access to sport programs and advocate the value and benefit of kids playing sport in the pursuit of lifelong health and wellness.
SACE – Sexual Assault Centre of Edmonton
The Sexual Assault Centre of Edmonton is a feminist-based not-for-profit charitable organization that supports children, adolescents, and adults who have experienced sexual abuse or assault, and educates the public about sexual violence.
The Sexual Assault Centre of Edmonton (SACE) exists to empower individuals affected by sexual abuse and assault, and empower communities to take action against sexual violence.
Sexual violence is an abuse of power and trust
People can heal
In valuing diversity and respecting all people
Individuals should be free to make their own life choices
Each person should have the opportunity to learn and grow
In creating a safe environment and maintaining confidentiality
Inability to pay should not be a barrier to receiving service
In providing support and advocacy for people who have been affected by sexual violence
Services must be accessible to children, adolescents, and adults of all genders
Communities must take action to protect vulnerable people and to become free from violence
Offenders, not victims, must take responsibility for violence
Teamwork is essential
